Leicestershire and Rutland Churches Map

Welcome to this website which is home to the Leicestershire & Rutland Church Journal. Here you will find brief information on each church with pictures from outside and inside the churches.
This site contains parish churches with some ruins, private chapels & churches. In the case of towns I will be including the main 'parish' church as well as other Church of England sites. Eventually I hope to return and complete other denominations.
Churches that are open all day for visitors are shown and their access times etc.

You can search for churches using the A-Z menu's under the Churches Directory menu (search by village or click on a thumbnail of the church you want to look at) or use the Interactive map to find your church.
There are also links to other websites including other county church collections in link tab above including a map of English Counties and their websites. There are also event links and lots of other information on the 'Church Directory' page. I have also included a PDF printable download file so if you do want to visit (and I hope you do!) you have all the information to hand.

I have also added local walks around the villages , these are linked from the Leicestershire County Council site and all have downloadable PDF leaflets for you to print off and enjoy.

This website aims to give the visitor concise clear information with excellent photography and historical information. It also shows clearly which churches are open and when, so you can visit and look around these important buildings. Please remember to leave a small donation when visiting they all need your support.
