We also run a site for pubs - perhaps after our churches the next most important building in the village or town. Use this site to find great places to eat and drink on your travels. You will also find this link on each church page for your use if required plus highlighted establishments.
St Peter's at Belgrave is our first city church to be added to the journal. This has been added as the church is now up for sale for £150,000.
There are more churches now being closed especially in the city and I will be adding these as quickly as I can.
The private Farnham chapel in the church at Quorn is perhaps one of the last private chapels in the county. The church is open on Saturday mornings and is worth a visit. Please note that the Farnham chapel is not open to visitors although it is easily viewable. Fine church in a pretty location.
The church at Sutton Cheney has one or two monuments and an usual west tower. Richard III is supposed to have taken mass here before the Battle of Bosworth which is nearby. Worth a visit.
Rotherby underwent a Victorian restoration that removed many of the medieval features that once graced the church. The off-set tower built into the south aisle adds character to a pleasant little church. I think this church is usually locked so is not open to visitors.
